Situated high on the banks of a stunning estuary in South Devon, Avon Cabin was born as an enabling project.  The need for a bat loft to provide a new habitat for protected bats which were living within parts of the main house due for demolition, inspired the creation of this bat loft with a difference.

The loft is within the roof space of a generous guest cabin, which houses a simple timber lined bedroom. The unifying whitewashed ash interior conceals flexible furniture including neatly designed drinks cabinet and workstation, alongside a wood burning stove and a sumptuous bathroom.

Clad in blackened larch externally with an embered oak deck, the cabin disappears into the shadows of the wooded grounds of the house.  The stars and night sky above are framed over the bed and the shower via rooflights, flooding yet more light into the beautiful soft and welcoming cabin interior during the day.
